The Project
The "Flying Africa" project is, above all, a pilot's quest,
A humanitarian journey, a noble behest."Flying Africa" intertwines adventure and care,
A personal discovery, with help we share—
Supporting isolated communities in need,
A tapestry of kindness, a heartfelt deed.
Two Years of Flight in Freedom
To embark in a small plane, circling Africa wide,
Is an incredible adventure for a pilot's pride,
Yet also a deeply human experience to embrace.
The notion of flying allows borders to efface,
Discovering realms that are scarcely explored,
A unique lens on the continent, soaring adored.
From arid deserts to lush tropical greens,
Revealing the beauty in all that it means.
We Want to Help
We reached out to charities in lands we will see,
Offering our services, sharing our plea.
Pilots embarking on such a grand quest
Can use their journey to aid those distressed.
Collecting funds for educational dreams,
Distributing school supplies, building hopeful schemes,
Or joining hands in environmental care,
Bringing tangible help, spreading kindness everywhere.
A Carbon-Neutral Journey
Consuming like a 4x4, sturdy and strong,
Yet leaving no indelible trace, where we belong.
For its fuel, know this, is carefully offset,
Carbon emissions vanished, a noble debt met.
In an enchanted forest, a balance restored,
Buying back emissions, a commendable accord.
2.2 kg per liter, a precise calculation,
To ensure a green journey.
In the Footsteps of Sabena
The aviators drawn to this venture, renowned,
Are mostly former airline pilots, grounded
In routes once flown across Africa’s skies,
Guiding large aircraft with experience wise.
Many of our stops, thoughtfully selected,
Mirror those once served by SABENA, respected—
A Belgian airline, with over a century's flight,
The most skilled in African destinations, shining bright.
